01Purpose
These terms govern the use of the Défix mobile app, published by X&A Ventures ("we"). By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
02The service
Défix is a culture quiz game. It offers sets of questions by theme, progression, leaderboards and leagues between players. The service is free in this version; no purchase is offered within it.
We may change, suspend or discontinue all or part of the service. If we discontinue it permanently, we will let you know within a reasonable time.
03Your account
Creating an account requires a valid email address. Sign-in uses a one-time code, with no password: keep access to your mailbox, as it is what protects your account.
Défix is not intended for people under 15. You are responsible for the activity carried out from your account.
04Rules of use
When using Défix, you agree not to:
- choose a username or team name that is insulting, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or that impersonates a real person or an organisation;
- misuse reporting, in particular to harm another player or distort a leaderboard;
- distort scores or leaderboards, through multiple accounts, exploiting a defect in the app, or any automated means;
- attempt to access our systems without authorisation, disrupt them, or extract their content on a large scale.
What is not abuse: playing a lot, reporting in good faith a question you believe to be wrong, challenging a moderation decision, or getting poor results. Such behaviour will never lead to a sanction.
05Moderation and sanctions
Our measures are graduated and proportionate to the breach:

| Reset of the username or team name | A name that breaches the rules above. You can choose a new, compliant one. |
| Reset of the scores concerned | Scores obtained through multiple accounts, exploitation of a defect, or automated means. The account is kept. |
| Temporary suspension | Repeat breach after an initial measure, or repeated abusive reports. |
| Account deletion | Persistent repeat breaches, or a serious breach — illegal content, attack on our systems. |
Challenging a decision. Whatever the measure, you can challenge it by writing to supportdefix@xa-ventures.com. We will review the situation and reply. If the measure was unfounded, we will lift it and restore what can be restored.
06Content you publish
The only content you publish is your username, your team name and your feedback messages. You remain responsible for it and you grant us the right to display it within the app for the purposes of the service (leaderboards, leagues).
07Availability
We use reasonable means to keep the service running, without guaranteeing permanent availability or the absence of errors. Interruptions may occur, in particular for maintenance. Question content is prepared with care but may contain inaccuracies: question reporting exists for that.
08Intellectual property
The app, its brand, its interface and its question base are protected and remain our property or that of our licensors. Your account gives you a personal, non-exclusive right to use the app, not a right over its content.
09Personal data
The processing of your data is described in our privacy policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.
10Termination
You can delete your account at any time from the app, via Profile → Delete my account, without having to give a reason. Deletion ends these terms.
11Distribution via the App Store
These terms are between you and X&A Ventures, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no maintenance or support obligation towards you: any request must be sent to us at supportdefix@xa-ventures.com. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to an embargo and are not listed as a prohibited party.
12Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms. In the event of a significant change, we will inform you in the app and ask you to accept them again. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
13Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, please contact us first at supportdefix@xa-ventures.com. As a consumer, you may use a consumer mediator free of charge, or the European online dispute resolution platform. Failing agreement, the competent courts are those designated by the applicable legal rules.
